My focus at launch is simple: watch the products with the strongest collector appeal first — especially Elite Trainer Boxes, Pokémon Center exclusives, booster products, and special collections — and compare the actual retail price with the secondary-market premium before buying.
ETBs, booster products, retailer exclusives, special collections, and any product whose retail allocation appears meaningfully tighter than demand.

Pokémon has confirmed Mega Evolution—Delta Reign for November 6, 2026. The expansion is headlined by Mega Rayquaza ex and is expected to contain more than 135 cards, including dozens of special-illustration cards.
Character demand matters here. Rayquaza has long-running collector recognition, so I’d pay close attention to the first-wave ETBs, booster products, and any premium collection tied directly to the headline Pokémon.
How I decide whether a launch product is worth buying
- Start with MSRP. A good product can become a bad buy when the entry price gets too far above retail.
- Check supply. Launch-day scarcity does not always mean long-term scarcity.
- Look at the product type. ETBs, booster bundles, booster boxes, tins, and collections have different liquidity and shipping costs.
- Separate collecting from flipping. I’m willing to hold a personal favorite longer than inventory I bought specifically to resell.
